A 31-YEAR-OLD Wallan woman will face Melbourne Magistrate Court on June 1 for a committal mention hearing.
The woman has been charged by Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives following a fatal crash in Whittlesea on Sunday afternoon.
It is alleged two vehicles collided while travelling along Grants Road shortly before 5pm, with a male driver of one of the vehicles, an 84-year-old man from Whittlesea, declared deceased at the scene.
The female driver is alleged to have left the scene after she was picked up in another vehicle. She was arrested not long after, and taken to hospital to be treated for injuries under police guard.
The woman has been charged with dangerous driving causing death, failure to stop and failure to render assistance.
