THE Whittlesea VIEW Club is looking ahead with confidence and enthusiasm to 2026, following what has been described as a standout year of connection, service and achievement.
Reflecting on the year just gone, club president Julie Burgess said 2025 had been a “fabulous year” marked by strong member engagement and meaningful outcomes for the wider community.
“As we ring in 2026, I would like to acknowledge what a fabulous 2025 we had. From our regular meetings, luncheons and morning teas to outings, theatre trips, and the introduction of mahjong and book chat groups, there was something for everyone. We also enjoyed wonderful birthday and Christmas celebrations and warmly welcomed new members along the way,” Ms Burgess said.
A highlight of the year was the club’s continued success in fundraising and its expanding support of disadvantaged students through The Smith Family’s Learning for Life program. The club recently increased its sponsorship commitment from four students to six, with further growth anticipated in the year ahead.
“Topping it all off is the growing number of students we are now supporting. That’s something every member can be proud of,” Ms Burgess added.
Fundraising efforts in 2025 included participation in the Mooroopna Rotary raffle, which raised just over $900 in clear profit for the club. Ms Burgess praised the collective effort behind the result.
“That success came down to members buying and selling tickets, it was a great team effort,” she said.
Ms Burgess also acknowledged the vital contribution of every club member, noting that the strength of the Whittlesea VIEW Club lies in its shared commitment.
“It is the contribution of every single member that has resulted in such a successful year. A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone.”
The club’s first meeting for 2026 will be held on February 12 at 10.30am at the Bowls Club and will include club elections and the annual general meeting.
Ms Burgess encouraged members interested in committee roles to put their hands up as the club prepares for another busy year.
With an active calendar, strong fundraising momentum and an expanding Learning for Life commitment, the Whittlesea VIEW Club is set to make 2026 another year of impact and connection.
“Welcome back to an action-packed year ahead. We are looking forward to a successful 2026 together,” Ms Burgess said.
