A BIG weekend for cricketers saw the runs flowing across the Gisborne and District Cricket Association as Wallan completed its first two-day match on the other side of the summer season against Macedon on Saturday.

Macedon made just 164 runs in total yet the side is fourth on the ladder and Wallan is second from the bottom.

COMING YOUR WAY: Riley Nolan bowling to Woodend on Saturday.
In contrast, Broadford struggled against Woodend, when stumps were called the side endured a savage defeat, and Woodend a 328-run victory.
Broadford’s Riley Nolan (34), Joshua Nolan (21) and Ashley Wood (24) helped the team rack up 130 runs. In the fielding Sikander Sharma stood out with three wickets and one catch to help dismiss Woodend, 9/458.
Woodend is second on the McIntyre’s firsts ladder and Broadford is last.

Mr Benstead is also proud of Josh Nolan, at 6ft 3 he said the 18-year-olds forte is shared between wicket keeper and batting.
