REGIONAL sports clubs and community organisations are being encouraged to apply for new funding to help make local sporting opportunities more inclusive for people with disability.

Applications are now open for the second round of the Regional All Abilities Participation Grants, which support initiatives that help people of all abilities get involved in sport and active recreation across regional Victoria.

Grants of up to $25,000 are available across three categories — Equipment and Travel, Inclusion Workforce, and Programs and Disability-led Initiatives. The funding aims to remove barriers and create more welcoming sporting environments for everyone.

Clubs can use the grants to purchase specialised or modified sporting equipment, such as wheelchairs, sensory balls, throwing frames, or adaptive technologies that support safe and inclusive participation. Funding can also go towards uniforms, coaching development, or volunteer training to help build a skilled and inclusive workforce.

In addition, grants can support travel costs for athletes and teams attending competitions, festivals, or events, as well as assist clubs in developing their own all-abilities sports programs tailored to local needs.

Eligible applicants include local sporting clubs, state sporting associations, disability and self-advocacy groups, and health or disability service providers that promote community participation in sport and recreation.

The initiative forms part of the state’s broader commitment to Active Victoria 2022–2026, which focuses on increasing participation and accessibility in sport and active recreation across all communities.

Applications and full program details are available at sport.vic.gov.au/funding.
