WITH the next round of the Small Regional Presenters program officially open, community groups in Macedon are encouraged to bring their creative ideas to life in 2026.

Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas today invites regional community groups and not-for-profit organisations as the Macedon electorate to apply for the State Government’s Small Regional Presenters program, enabling them to attract and present performing arts events in their communities.

Grants up to $15,000 are available to support the presentation of events, as well as enabling local venues and presenters to build their skills and capacity, develop long term plans for their businesses and reach new audiences.

Previously, towns such as Tallarook have been beneficiaries of the program, with funding through previous rounds of the program supporting young people with a comedy show and a mentoring workshop, among other programs across Victoria.

The Small Regional Presenters program is a State Government initiative delivered by Regional Arts Victoria, the state’s peak body for creatives and creative organisations in the regions.

Victoria’s creative economy provides employment to more than 327,000 workers – from performers and producers to designers, editors, technicians and beyond. Behind every worker is a family – and that’s why we’re backing the people who power our creative state.

Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas said that the state is a wealth of creative talents, and that everyone should have an opportunity.

“Victoria’s regions are a wealth of exciting creative talent. The Small Regional Presenters program ensures that no matter where they live, our creatives have the opportunity to share their ideas and work with their communities, and reach new audiences across right across the state,” she said.

Regional Arts Victoria CEO Jo Porter said that wonderful things come out of this program and that everyone should have a chance to apply.

“The wonderful thing about the Small Regional Presenters Program is that it resources Victoria’s small venues to create experiences in the halls at the heart of their communities,” she said.

“From Mildura to Mallacoota and beyond, if you’re thinking of offering performances, I encourage you to apply.”
