First grand finals in junior grades

JUNIOR finals continued on Sunday, with the Northern Football Netball League wrapping up for the season, and preliminary finals being played in the Goulburn Murray Junior League.

In the Northern Football Netball League, Wallan were successful in its two grand finals, both played at Mernda’s Waterview Reserve.

The under 12 division 2 competition saw the Magpies successful by 10 points over Eltham, scoring 3.6 (24) to 2.2 (14).

Wallan was also triumphant in the under 13 division 3 competition, holding off Yarrambat to win 4.6 (30) to 3.3 (21).

Kilmore’s sole grand final of the day saw it embark on Yarrambat’s War Memorial Park to try and take down Whittlesea, but it was not to be, with the Eagles winning 9.18 (72) to 3.6 (24).

Meantime, Wandong and Broadford will face one another in the under 12 southern grand final of the Goulburn Murray Junior League, with the Warriors too strong in the second half for Seymour, kicking 9.9 (63) to 2.5 (17).

Seymour will also have representation on grand final day, with the under 14 division two team taking on Alexandra, while the under 16 division two team will face Mooroopna.
