A HOST of junior teams played this week around the area, with opportunities for kids to play off in grand finals this week.

For Kilmore, there were three games across the weekend, with the under 14 girls unfortunately going down by just a single point to Hurstbridge in the preliminary final, losing 2.3 (15) to 2.4 (16).

There was better news for the Blues’ under 14 boys, however, who put together a complete performance to progress to a grand final meeting with Whittlesea, kicking 11.6 (72) to 2.9 (21) against South Morang.

In the Goulburn Murray Junior League, Broadford and Wandong met in the under 12s second semi-final.

There was not much to separate either side on the day, but it was Broadford who prevailed and moved on to a grand final berth, winning 4.4 (28) to 4.3 (27).

Wandong will have another go at it next week against Seymour in the preliminary final.

Wallan will have two teams participate on junior grand final day, with the Magpies’ under 12 team making the division two grand final against Eltham, while the under 13 division three team will play Yarrambat.
