IT was an unlucky weekend for Kilmore’s junior cohort, winning one of their seven finals matches.

In the under 11 competition, Kilmore were unable to stop a first quarter blitz from Panton Hill at Redleap Reserve, losing 2.8 (20) to 6.2 (38) in the elimination final.

The under 12 girls was Kilmore’s only success of the weekend, with Kilmore defeating Montmorency 3.2 (20) to 1.3 (9) at Susan Street Reserve in the elimination final.

The under 13 boys had a thrilling elimination final at Research Park which ultimately went Laurimar’s way, winning 6.7 (43) to Kilmore’s 4.5 (29).

Kilmore will have to make use of the double chance in the under 14 girls’ competition, losing 2.2 (14) to Darebin’s 5.10 (40) in the qualifying final at Susan Street.

It’s a similar story for the under 14 boys, who will also need to utilise the double chance after losing 3.1 (19) to Whittlesea’s 11.7 (73) at Eltham Central Park.

Kilmore had a thrilling, high-scoring battle with Yarrambat in the under 16s elimination final at Waterview Reserve, but ultimately got eliminated, 11.6 (72) to 13.9 (87).

In the under 16s women’s competition, Kilmore had a terrific fight with Diamond Creek Women’s at Research Park, but were eliminated with a 3.5 (23) to 4.7 (31) defeat.
