IF you or someone you know is living with osteoarthritis of the hip or knee, help is at hand right here in Kilmore.
Physiotherapist Dylan, from the Kilmore Wellness Centre, is now taking expressions of interest for the GLA:D Program – an internationally recognised initiative designed to help people manage their hip and knee osteoarthritis symptoms through guided exercise and education.
GLA:D, which stands for “Good Life with Osteoarthritis: Denmark,” is an evidence-based program that’s consistently shown to reduce pain, improve mobility and quality of life, reduce medication use, and boost cost-effectiveness. Importantly, it also delays or diminishes the likelihood of surgery—especially when participants experience early functional gains.
The group-based program runs over six weeks, with participants attending two sessions per week. Before starting, each participant completes an initial one-on-one assessment to tailor the program to their needs. Each group session includes targeted exercises to improve strength and joint stability, as well as informative seminars covering everything from joint care and pain management to long-term strategies for maintaining an active lifestyle.
Whether you’ve recently been diagnosed or have been living with osteoarthritis for years, this supportive and practical program is open to all who are ready to take proactive steps toward feeling better and moving more freely with less pain.
Dylan brings a friendly, professional approach to every session, ensuring participants feel supported, informed, and empowered to take control of their joint health.
