POLICE are investigating a fatal crash in Avenel on Wednesday, July 30. Emergency services were called to Hume Freeway, near the intersection of Lambing Gully Road, after a truck went down an embankment and crashed into trees about 1pm.
The truck set on fire following the crash. The driver, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene. Officers are working to establish the circumstances of the crash.
