KILMORE Art Society (KAS) is thrilled to offer an oil painting workshop with Ben Winspear next month.
Mr Winspear is a Melbourne based artist, and locals may recall he donated a piece of art— Davey’s Bay Beach, Mornington as the major raffle prize at the 2025 Kilmore Art Expo held in April.
Winspear regularly paints objects from real life using oils and water colours to capture a wide range of subject matter; anything that inspires him at the time.
President of KAS Jeannette Jain hopes the class will appeal to all ages, and said there are painting supplies to use, especially for first timers hoping to develop new or sharpen their existing painting skills.
Winspear takes pride in teaching students to reproduce their visual language or observations, and he will share how he does this and the right materials to deliver the most favourable results.
Be it a portrait or a landscape, Winspear has held several successful solo and joint exhibitions across 15 years as a professional painter, and now you can learn from the best. The workshop is a one-day-only event, and it will be held at the KAS studio, 15 Anvil Avenue on Saturday, August 2, from 9.30am to 3pm, and its sure be another sell out for KAS.
The cost is $25 for members and $50 for visitors, and everyone is welcome, please bring your own lunch and materials if you prefer.
For enquiries, please phone Jeannette on 0410 561 630.
Art therapy with Ian Hibburt
Art therapy is proven to help manage stress, grief, depression, pain, illness, loneliness, and isolation.

Attendees are asked to bring an A4 sized drawing pad and sketching pencils. The cost is $20 per session, and the first of five sessions will also be held at the KAS studio on Thursday, August 7 from 1pm to 3pm.
