INLAND Rail will undertake both day and night works in Broadford later this month, resulting in a coach replacement service for Seymour, Shepparton, and Albury trains.

The works will include a variety of activities, and will be conducted in preparation for the removal and construction of new bridges along the Beveridge to Albury line to allow double stacked freight trains to move through the area.

Between March 21 and 24, works will be conducted in and around Hamilton Street, Broadford. The works will include, but will not be limited to: Underground bore works for utilities crossing the rail corridor between Dairy Lane and Ferguson Street, the installation of delineation fencing within the rail corridor and along Dairy Lane, and the removal of old signalling infrastructure, overhead wires, trees, and vegetation.

Residents can expect works to commence at 5am on Saturday, March 22, and finish at 7pm on Monday, March 24.

In Short Street, Broadford, between March 22 and 24, works will include excavation within the rail corridor between Short and Jamieson streets to create space for an access track.

Works will include, but are not limited to: Excavating the rail corridor batter and installing delineation fencing between Short and Jamieson streets, and removing approved trees and vegetation within the rail corridor.

Residents can expect Short Street bridge to be reduced to a single lane with shuttle-flow, and reduced speed limits of 40km/h near works. Generator-powered lighting towers, periods of high levels of noise and dust and vibration will also occur during both works.

Replacement coaches will be a mix of express and stopping at all stations services, excluding Essendon Station. For more information on the temporary timetable for passenger train services, visit www.vline.com.au/timetables/service-changes.
