THE Kilmore District Men’s Shed is set to benefit from the latest round of the State Government’s Men’s Shed Funding Program.
Men’s sheds are more than just a place to tinker, they’re an important support network for men right across Victoria, helping them to learn important skills from woodworking to home repairs, while providing a sense of purpose and community.
Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes recently announced that three sheds would receive funding as part of the 2024-25 Men’s Shed Funding Program.
“By investing in Men’s Sheds, we are supporting spaces that create a sense of belonging, contributing to the health and wellbeing of local communities,” she said.
“It’s great news for the Kilmore District Men’s Shed who will receive over $3000 to purchase and install an air purifier, helping to reduce dust in the shed.
“Members at the Kilmore District Men’s Shed are pleased to learn the air purifier will help keep the dust down.
“Their wood-working projects include furniture restoration, building garden seats, and children’s playgrounds. Metal work projects also create dust, and the new air purifier will allow them to get on with their projects.”
The Badger Creek and District Men’s Shed will receive $10,000 for a replacement dust extractor to help improve air quality and noise reduction, while the Kinglake Ranges Men’s Shed will receive over $1000 for an upgraded and safer table saw.
