THE Review recently reached out to residents of BlueCross Willowmeade in Kilmore for their ‘Words of wisdom’. Here’s what they had to say.
What makes you happy?
Lorraine, age 78: Footy—I go for Collingwood.
Gail, age 80: Seeing my family.
Cheryl, age 76: Diamond art.
Ray, age 90: All of these people [BlueCross Willowmeade staff]. I smile and laugh all day.
Sheila, age 97: If I’m happy, I can paint.
What advice do you have for someone who needs it?
Lorraine, age 78: I’d ask, ‘Is there anything I can do to help?’, and ‘If there is, let me know, we can talk about it.’
Gail, age 80: If you’re not feeling well, tell one of the carers.
Cheryl, age 76 : Have a glass of wine.
