Council officers have been asked to provide an update to the May council meeting into progress on matters relating to the Cycling Consultative Forum final recommendation that was endorsed at the December 2022 council meeting.
Cr Rhonda Sanderson’s notice of motion asked that the report should include progress on each of the 27 actions included in the Cycling Consultative Forum Action Plan as in Section 1 of the endorsed recommendation.
The plan sought to bring interested community members from around the Shire to provide insight and assistance in helping to direct Council’s future efforts to support and enhance active transport solutions throughout the Shire.
Officer comment on the matter claimed that staff resourcing in the Transport Team in recent years has restricted the ability to roll out a permanent Cycling Consultative Forum, however with recent successful recruitment in this area the Team will be looking to re-initialise this Forum for 2024.
