Popular Stories

Barry Plant Mitchell Shire agent Kieran Knight is among Victoria’s top 50 high achievers aged under 35 years in real estate.

Mr Knight, 24, sold 108 residential properties in 2021, totalling $53.695 million.

He was the second youngest agent on the list and the youngest from the Barry Plant network, which boasted nine agents on the Sunday Herald-Sun list.

Mr Knight first started his real estate career by knocking on the doors of agencies.

After growing up in Strath Creek, he deferred university to learn a trade, but then decided he wanted to be in real estate.

“I always had a bit of interest in property and started as a cadet to [agency director] Simon Best and worked my way up,” he said.

In his second year, Mr Knight attained his full real estate licence, and last year completed a course to become an auctioneer.

Hard work and dedication helped him achieve success in 2021 after five years in real estate, and he estimated he has sold 125 properties with $67 million in sales in the past financial year.

Mr Knight was also a finalist in several categories in last year’s Barry Plant Awards for Excellence, including top seller and top lister [individual salesperson with no personal assistant], and sales person with the largest increase in sales 2021.

“Being in the country and from the area, we are a bit different … this is a relationship business, we have to be authentic and genuine,” he said.

He said an example of his successful relationships in real estate was the recent sale for a vendor who had purchased a property from him for $511,000 in 2019.

“I recently sold the property for them for $735,000,” he said.

Mr Knight’s most memorable sale in 2021 was a property on Sugarloaf Creek Road, Broadford, where he helped a family sell their rammed earth house for $1.945 million.

“The Mitchell Shire team and the Barry Plant network offer important support,” he said.

Barry Plant Mitchell Shire managing director Simon Best said he was proud of Mr Knight’s achievements.

“Kieran has worked hard to achieve what he has and we congratulate him on being recognised in the top 50 agents under 35 in Victoria,” he said.“He has a great work ethic and is diligent in his process with good customer service and good follow-up – that’s why he achieves success.”
