HOMICIDE detectives are continuing to investigate the death of Mernda woman Celeste Manno, who was found dead at her Umbria Road home in the early hours of Monday morning.
A 35-year-old man was arrested in connection with the death and remains under police guard.
Police believe the man was a former work colleague of Ms Manno at a Mill Park call centre.
Ms Manno, 23, was found dead inside the home she shared with her mother at about 4.10am on Monday morning.
Police are investigating how the man might have gained entry to the property.
After leaving the property it is believed the man drove himself to Mernda Police Station, where he was arrested.
A secondary crime scene was established at the station, with forensic investigators examining the man’s car.
The police spokesperson said an investigation remains ongoing and encouraged witnesses or anybody with information relating to the incident to come forward.
