A MARKET to support businesses in the Mitchell Shire is set to draw people in as restrictions ease, allowing the commencement of Mitchell Shire Christmas Market on November 28.
Organiser Christine Klein said the market would be a chance for people in the Mitchell Shire to set up their own stall and sell their products.
“It will be a great benefit to the community to be able to do their Christmas shopping while supporting local business owners who have done it tough due to the COVID-19 lockdown,” she said.
“All are welcome, although we need to comply with the COVID rules on the day of the event.
“Those that come along will be asked to fill in a standard contact tracing forms, hand sanitiser will be provided at various locations throughout, and face masks are mandatory.”
Fresh produce, glass art, jewellery, kitchenware, essential oils, perfume, candles, and children’s clothing are just some of the stalls available.
The market will be hosted at Hidden Valley Resort, with food and drinks available at The Grove, from 1pm to 5pm.
“Our role is to help the community support one another. When everyone is still a little scared to go down to Melbourne. We have so many little businesses now, this is the time to support them,” Ms Klein said.
“Tess and I would like to thank Hidden Valley Resort for their cooperation and generously giving the community the use of their beautiful venue. We hope this is the first of many.”
Half of the stallholder fees will be donated to Love in Action Wallan, and people in attendance have a chance to win door prizes.
