Kilmore man’s shocking discovery

A KILMORE man was pleasantly surprised to find out he had won $550,000 with TattsLotto, after initially reading his win as $500.

The man, who did not wish to be named, purchased his ticket at Kilmore Newsagency, and was one of nine division-one winners.

The man spoke with a TattsLotto representative yesterday and explained his shocking discovery.

“I checked it late on Saturday night. I didn’t realised what I’d won at first. I thought I won $500. I had to go put my glasses on because I couldn’t see properly,” he said.

“That’s when I realised. I started shaking and sweating – I was so shocked. I just couldn’t believe it.

“Well you can imagine what my Saturday night was like after that. We went and cracked open a bottle and celebrated all night long.

“I enjoyed a nice sleep on Sunday. When I woke up, I thought it was a dream, but I am glad it isn’t.”

The man said he spent the weekend making plans after winning the cash prize.

“I am going to pay the house off,” he said.

“We definitely want to do some travelling when we can. We’d love to do some big trips throughout Europe, but obviously those plans are on hold for now.

“In times like these, this win really just means so much.”

Kilmore Newsagency employee Mary Nagothu said the outlet couldn’t be happier for the winner.

“We are very excited. What an incredible win for our customer. We wish him all the very best and hope he truly enjoys it,” she said.

“Earlier this year we sold a division-one win in Oz Lotto. Hopefully we sell more major prizes to our customers soon. It’s always so exciting.”
