NORTHERN Health Foundation is calling on the community for support now more than ever as it plays a central role in responding to the COVID-19 outbreak.
“We are preparing for a significant increase in patients needing support and treatment in our fever clinic, respiratory unit and intensive care unit over the coming weeks and months,” a hospital spokesperson said.
“In response to this, Northern Health Foundation has launched a COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund to help Northern Health provide the best possible care for COVID-19 patients in the north.
“Our dedicated staff are working hard to keep our community safe, and they need your help during this challenging time.
“The fund is designed to accelerate and increase our capacity to care for COVID-19 patients and provide support for front line staff at a critical time for our services, including additional equipment to exclusively treat COVID-19 patients.”
Donations from the community will go towards high flow oxygen machines, additional ultrasound machines and to ensure front line medical staff have access to health and wellbeing support.
