Mernda back on track

Mernda have evened out their record to 6-6 with a 44-point away win over Reservoir on Saturday.

Mernda led by eight points after two goal to one first term.

The Demons put their stamp on the game in the second term, kicking 6.5 (41) to 2.1 (13) to lead by 35 points at half-time.

Reservoir was able to reel in Mernda in the third term, kicking 3.1 (19) to the Demons’ 2.2 (14), to trail by 30 points at three-quarter time.

Reservoir continued to put pressure on Mernda with three final term goals but the Demons were able to run away with the win on the back of a five-goal final term.

The Demons are now sixth on the NFNL division three ladder, behind Heidelberg West on percentage but could drop down after next week’s bye.
