Lancefield suffered a 79-point loss to Diggers Rest on Saturday.
It was a slow start for the Tigers, kicking two behinds to 3.3 in the first term to trail by 19 points at quarter time.
The Burras, in front of a home crowd, held Lancefield scoreless in the second term while adding five goals to their total to take a 53-point lead into half-time.
The goals kept coming for Diggers Rest in the second half, adding another four to their total while Lancefield finally broke through to kick two of their own.
The Burras added just one more goal in the final term and held Lancefield scoreless to cruise home with the win.
Lancefield coach Chris Collins said the weather couldn’t have been better for the Tigers.
“We know they’re a good side so the conditions being as bad as they were brought both sides onto an even playing field and we were really happy with our efforts all day,” he said.
“We made it pretty simple. With the wind and conditions, there was a dead side of the ground and we wanted to keep it out there as much as we could.
“It wasn’t a flashy game, we just wanted to minimise the scoring and hope to get a couple ourselves, which were able to do, so I’m proud of the boys.
“I was really proud of the boys playing with injuries, we had Darren Pipe playing with fluid in his knees, Lachlan Clement playing with a broken hand and we had eight under 19s double up for the day.
“To have that up against us and put in four quarters of solid effort, I was really proud of the team.”
