Broadford was unable to keep its momentum going after last week’s win over Lancefield, stopped by Melton Centrals to the tune of 89 points on Saturday.
The Blues ran away with a big win over the Kangaroos on the back of a six-goal haul from Dylan Weir.
Playing in front of their home crowd, the Kangaroos started well as their back line held up to the pressure that Melton Centrals put them under from the start.
It took a few minutes for the Blues to get a breakthrough goal and they followed up with five more, taking a 34-point lead into quarter time.
Broadford was able to slow down Melton Centrals’ scoring in the second term, while adding two goals of their own.
Facing a 46-point margin at half-time, the Kangaroos rued missed opportunities in the third term, kicking 1.7 (13).
However they held the Blues to just three scoring shots, as the margin remained at 46 points.
Melton Centrals ran away with the game in the fourth quarter, piling on seven goals to none.
