MEMBER for Northern Metropolitan Region, Evan Mulholland, claims it has been 302 days since the Wollert Transport Corridor Study was announced.
But Mr Mulholland says that to date there has been no sign of the study, and no progress on Wollert Rail.
“The outer northern suburbs are growing rapidly and they deserve the same level of services as the rest of Victoria. It’s time Labor got on with the job and built Wollert Rail, not just promise studies,” Mr Mulholland said.
He added that the report last September quoted the Federal Labor Member for McEwen, Rob Mitchell, as saying that the study had commenced last month, and is expected to be completed by early 2025.
“Well, here we are now in the back half of 2025, and there’s still no study and still no sign of Wollert Rail,” Mr Mulholland said.
“The government has got its priorities massively wrong as it keeps pouring massive amounts of money into the Suburban Rail loop over in the eastern suburbs, and it is Wollert and the outer north that keeps suffering as a result.”
