Seniors are embracing new age technology with the launch of the digital Seniors Card.
Since its launch last June, more than 80,000 Victorians have downloaded a digital version of their Seniors Card via the Service Victoria app.
Free, quick to download, and easy to use, the virtual card allows older Victorians to continue accessing the benefits of their card, even if the physical card has been left at home.
Seniors cards are available to all retired or semi-retired (working less than 35 hours per week) permanent residents of Australia over the age of 65.
In addition to travel discounts, the card also allows for a 5 per cent discount on Everyday WISH Gift Cards and online IGA Gift Cards, up to a 5 per cent discount on JB Hi-Fi, Myer, Priceline, and other e-Gift Cards, and a 4c per litre discount with a United Fuel discount card.
Minister for Ageing Ingrid Stitt invited Victorians who had not yet downloaded the digital card to do so and reap the benefits.
“The digital Seniors Card makes it easier than ever for older Victorians to stay connected, active, and engaged in their communities,” she said.
