Last Friday, the Kilmore Primary School (KPS) community kicked up their heels in a Run4Fun Splash of Colour fundraising event, even sliming some of the teachers in the process.
The colour explosive event is Australia’s most popular and profitable way to raise funds for schools, and involves students dressing up in white clothes, protective eyewear, and walking or running along a track while being sprayed with vibrant, non-toxic genuine colour powder.
Each classroom took a turn before the whole school participated in the course, each student’s once white shirt turning technicolour.
The top student fundraiser was then given the privilege of choosing a teacher to slime with green goo while the school community applauded.
The event raised a grand total of $16,332, which will go towards the purchasing of literacy resources.
