The silliest, craziest, and brightest socks were on show at Broadford Primary School’s Walk Safely to School day last Friday.

The event seeks to promote pedestrian road safety, educating students on traffic signals and road signs. In addition, the day also promotes physical exercise and environmental awareness.

Around 50 students from Broadford Primary School attended the event under the guidance of Principal Jeanette Cooney, teachers, and the parents.

The Walk Safely to School day is an annual event for the school.

It begins at The Lions Park and follows footpaths and crossings to get to school safely. This year, teacher Melissa Lewis invited students to wear crazy socks to add fun and colour to the event.

Ms Cooney thanked teachers Carly Symons and Ms Lewis for organising the Walk Safely to School day, praising the event.

“Walking to school is better for the environment and friends can walk together,” she said.
