Celebrate World Environment Day in June with a Dr. Seuss movie night featuring The Lorax.
In celebration of the day, City of Whittlesea will be screening The Lorax, all while learning crucial lessons about the importance of conversation and protecting the environment.
City of Whittlesea Chair Administrator Lydia Wilson said the theme of this year’s World Environment Day – being ‘Our land. Our future. We are #GenerationRestoration’ – aligned with council’s commitment to creating a greener community for residents.
“As part of our Sustainable Environment Strategy, we have a strong focus on supporting the community to value our natural landscapes and biodiversity, and also to act to support nature,” she said.
“I encourage our community to get involved in World Environment Day and activities that support our goal of creating a liveable and sustainable environment for all.
“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”
Enjoy a night of family-friendly fun, with activities for the kids, food, drinks, and prizes at Plenty Ranges Arts and Convention Centre from 6pm-9pm on June 7.
