To celebrate an exciting relocation, the Kilmore Art Society is inviting people of all ages and abilities to another free Colour Splash workshop.
A little bit of everything, the Colour Splash workshop will feature demonstrations from members of the Kilmore Art Society, and assist participants to try new media and simply ‘have a go’.
Kilmore Art Society member Jeanette Jain noted that the size and layout of the new location meant that people of all abilities had the opportunity to access the building and participate.
“Thanks to the generosity of a local family, we have a new home at 15 Anvil Avenue, Kilmore, where we will meet every Wednesday to work on our art. It’s very roomy,” she said.
The workshop will provide a safe space to try something new and welcomes artists of all levels to participate.
“If you can hold a pencil you can draw. First efforts can be surprisingly good, and we encourage all ages to let us show them something new,” Ms Jain said.
A rewarding and relaxing experience, Ms Jain noted that creating art in a social setting could also lend itself to new ideas and improve overall wellbeing.
“We find our mental health improves when we have company,” she said.
The Colour Splash workshop will run from 10am-12pm on Saturday, May 18.
There is ample parking available, and light refreshments will also be served.
