Seymour Cottage Community Open Day will be this Sunday, March 3, with a range of heritage education, entertainment activities and refreshments available.
The event will be at the historic Romsey property at 20 Palmer Street, Romsey from 10am to 4pm with gold coin entry.
Attendees can learn about the Romsey-Lancefield Historical Society, membership and activities.
The keynote speaker for the day is local Mount Macedon nurseryman and former ABC Gardening Australia presenter Stephen Ryan.
He will present two talks, one later morning and another in the afternoon.
Mr Ryan’s presentations are being sponsored by local business Frost’s Timber and Building Supplies at Monegeetta.
Another feature of the day will be two captioned photographic print displays – one illustrating the long and significant heritage of Romsey’s Sidney Seymour Cottage and the other showing historic photographs of local buildings and street views compared with their current day appearance.
Lancefield and Romsey Community Bendigo Bank provided a sizable grant for the Community Open day event.

Looking forward to seeing the cottage after hearing many family stories of the Seymour family that have been passed down in the family.
