Sport facility upgrades and $10.3 million for roads are some of the highlights of the Macedon Ranges Shire Council 2023-24 Budget.
The 2023-24 budget of about $112.7 million was adopted at council’s June meeting, with some changes as a result of public feedback or officer recommendations during its consultation period in late May.
The changes include Macedon Tennis Club’s fencing replacement of $120,000, including non-council contributions, Lancefield Park Recreation Reserve Master Plan of $50,000, and construction of the Romsey Skate Park of $570,000, including non-council contributions.
Road upgrades feature on the budget’s agenda, with council dedicating $10.3 million to roads, while a further $1.2 million is earmarked for footpath and cycling pathways.
The year three actions 2023-24 of the council 2021-2031 plan were also adopted, which includes the development of an updated Reconciliation Action Plan, a Climate Emergency Response Plan, and a new Waste Education Action Plan.
