Kilmore Art Expo organisers are encouraging prospective entrants for the 2023 show to submit artworks this week, with entries closing on Friday.
The Kilmore Art Expo is one of the most highly regarded art shows in regional Victoria, typically attracting hundreds of entries.
The 15th annual show, a joint venture between the Rotary Club of Southern Mitchell and the Kilmore Art Society, will be from April 21 to 23.
More than $8500 in prizes and awards will be distributed by a panel of judges at the conclusion of the expo.
This year’s show will feature four mediums, with painting, sculpture and photography categories returning from previous years alongside a new digital art category.
The show is open to artists across the age spectrum, with entries available for children six years and over. Young artists under the age of 18 can download a youth entry form at www.kilmoreartexpo.com.
A range of prizes totalling more than $500 are on offer for youth entrants, as well as an opportunity to win the people’s choice award, valued at $400.
Adult artists need to apply through a new administration group, Gallery 247, via website www.gallery247.com.au.
People can use the website to create a profile and submit entries, as well as view key dates, conditions of entry and sale, and when and how to submit artworks.
People requiring help with their entries can email kilmoreartsocietyinc@gmail.com or call Kilmore Art Society’s Andrea Willis on 0428 410 041 for more information. People with queries about youth entries can call Lisa on 0432 252 342 or Michelle on 0425 790 920.
The exhibition will open with a preview night on Friday, April 21 from 6.30pm at Kilmore Soldiers Memorial Hall, with an opportunity for attendees to meet the artists, view award-winning art, and enjoy live music, food and drink.
The exhibition will be open from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, April 22 and Sunday, April 23.
Ms Willis encouraged the entire community to attend the expo to support the artists, with each of the exhibition’s artworks available for sale.
