Sunday buses on the way for Kilmore

Popular Stories

THE State Government has announced the introduction of Sunday bus services, with more than $600,000 allocated in the State Budget 2022-23 to set up the extra service.

Expected to begin running next year, the Sunday services will link up to train services at Kilmore East station and expand the existing network based on community feedback and changing travel needs of the growing Kilmore region.

Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes said the services would make it much easier for Kilmore’s residents to travel around town.

“Kilmore is booming, which is why we’re introducing Sunday services to give everyone more options and flexibility to get out and around town,” she said.

“The extra services will deliver a daily bus service for Kilmore – something we know people have been wanting for a long time.

“I look forward to working with everyone in the community to ensure the new services are planned to meet everyone’s needs and to see the first bus take passengers next year.”

The added services will be supported by $108.5 million in the Budget to introduce Victoria’s Bus Plan, aimed at improving suburban and regional bus services and bus stops.

Planning and consultation for the new Kilmore bus services will take place in the coming months.
