The City of Whittlesea’s Women in Business Networking Event provided business leaders with an opportunity to gather, make new contacts and hear from two guest speakers.
The event, at Mawarra Functions in Wollert, attracted women from across the municipality and representing a wide range of business ventures.
The City of Whittlesea’s economic development team were also on hand to discuss what the council was doing to help promote local business and attract medium to large businesses.
Guest speaker Maria Pellicano spoke about her beginnings as a singer, which turned into a business of being a singing, voice coaching and public speaking teacher.
Her inquisitive nature of how the human brain worked then saw her career progress into life coaching and counselling.
Communications specialist Ange Smith spoke about her career in digital marketing, which led to forming her own business Digital Whiskey that now has clients across the world.
Ms Smith provided the audience with advice on how to market small businesses on social media, using the social media platform that best fits with a specific business, and building relationships with clients.
Both women have established their businesses within the City of Whittlesea, and were keen to encourage other business owners to embrace marketing their businesses in order to grow.
