SEYMOUR Agricultural and Pastoral Society is offering a scholarship to a young person to assist with tertiary study during the pandemic.
The previous recipient, Mackenzie Spencer said working from home since March was made easier with the scholarship, because she had a sense of security for the next few years of her career.
She said the agricultural society validated her career aspirations to research climate change and sustainability in agriculture.
Seymour Agricultural and Pastoral Society is unique in offering a scholarship and aims to encourage and assist young people who wish to study in a field that will benefit rural Australia.
While food and agriculture remain a focus, other fields as diverse as medicine, veterinary science or natural resource management are also eligible.
The scholarship has been offered annually and is available to someone from the region who wishes to study in a relevant field that has potential to benefit the rural community.
To apply, people can contact the Seymour Agricultural and Pastoral Society scholarship committee by phoning 0438 577 126 or 0428 969 255 to obtain an application form, or in writing to PO Box 6, Seymour VIC 3661.
