WORKSHOPS teaching young people and new parents life skills will be presented online by the City of Whittlesea over the next few weeks.
A series of workshops entitled ‘Adulting for Beginners’ begins today and aims to teach young people, aged between 18 and 24, life skills, including resume writing, having a positive social media presence, managing credit cards, rental rights, and how to apply for a healthcare card.
It will also include more serious discussions on being respected in an adult relationship and recognising family violence, and how to access low-cost legal support.
The two-hour workshops begin today at 4pm and will also be on November 10, 17 and 24, and December 1.

A series of workshops celebrating Children’s Week started on Sunday and will run until the end of the week.
Remaining workshops in the series include: DPV Health – An Overview Of Child, Youth And Family Services, tomorrow, 10am-11am; Hearing Health And The Effects Of Noise In Young People, tomorrow, 10am-11am; Connect, Play, Communicate, Thursday, 10am-11am; and My Baby Hates Tummy Time, What Should I Do?, Friday, 10am-11.30am.
